Whole30 Day One

Initially I had planned to start my 3rd round of The Whole30 Program on April 1st, but I thought what better day to start than today?! So today is Day One! I pretty much already know what and how I should be eating but sometimes, let’s be honest, I get lazy! There is no doubt that when I am eating clean, I feel and perform WAY better! I love getting down in the kitchen and discovering new recipes from all those cool Paleo websites.

I’ve chosen to blog about my experience because 1) my coach told me to as a way of holding myself accountable (I hesitated the first two times but third times the charm, right?); 2) I want to show others it is totally possible to eat real food; 3) to challenge myself to blog more, on a daily basis!

How do you best prepare for success?! Get your grocery shopping done, get rid of all the crap, and get cookin! Here are the good eats of the day:

Breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs, sweet potato latkes from Everyday Paleo and some coconut butter

Lunch: 2 turkey patties over bed of mixed greens and avocado with oil and balsamic vinegar

Dinner: Roasted chicken and olives with a bowl of Butternut Squash Soup

CrossFit Palo Alto, It’s soooo good to be back!

This is my third week of consistent workouts at CrossFit Palo Alto. Currently I am a proud member of the Women’s 9am class on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, but I definitely do miss my 7am crew! I’ve been totally M.I.A. the last couple of months and I guess I can say I fell off my CrossFit wagon. No more excuses, and now I am back!

The only part that sucks is that my progress has been hindered and I find myself fighting to get back to my usual training shape. Everything is full of a whole lot of suck, but I know what it takes to get back to my formal self. Being back at the box, I realize how much I missed being there putting in work and my community of CrossFitters that have asked me where the hell have I been?!? CFPA has everything I could ask for in a box! Below is the response from my coach Tim from a text I sent him about the first workout back:

Me: Today’s workout sucked… It’s gonna be an uphill battle!

Tim: To be expected. And will be a good test of character to come back stronger and fitter than ever. You can do it. You know what to do. And use the community to help you. Glad you’re back!

Birth Day

Thirty years ago today God gave me to two of the most wonderful and deserving parents on earth. I grew up blessed by the hard work, determination and love of my mother and father. God is Great, God is Good, Amen!

This is the beginning

Just a bunch of random thoughts, ideas and activities going on in my life. We are given so many blessings in life and it seems only fitting for me to share mine with the world.
